2010 CRAIG WILLIAMS MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING AT FANCY GAP, VA.
Moose Legionnaire Golfers representing many Tarheel Lodges gathered at Fancy Gap on June 5th to pay honor to the memory of Craig and to do what Moose Legionnaires do by "having fun" while furthering a great charitable cause with a weekend of merriment and golf.
Mary Ellen was kind to again share her vacation home with any and all who cared to come to a great Friday night of fun, food and fellowship and to demonstrate their various skills indulging in such things as "librations", "Texas Hold-Um" and other little games while meeting and greeting old friends from across the region. A great time was had by all and those who attended appreciated Mary Ellen's hospitality and the sharing of her home.
The golf was great, the course couldn't have been in better shape and the hospitality of the management was greatly appreciated. The first aid wagons were in place and were the center of much action. The hours were long, the sun was hot and the "librations" offered was gladly accepted.
Following the tournament, the banquet was held and was a "blast" as we saw great food (Steak Dinner), good drawings for prizes and the team honors were given out. Awards were given for the lst and 2nd places in both the Men's and Mixed Player teams.
The rotating trophy was carried home by one team from High Point 693 lodge who was the overall winning team of the tournament. The competition was tough and the decision was decided by the score cards on the first holes play.
The "tail-gaiting" that went on at the area motels were successful from what we hear and there was plenty of action at all as we understand it.
We hope next years event will be more successful as the event continues to build each year as thirty (30) teams were entered this year which made it the largest field of players in several years. Photo’s are available in the “Photo Album” section of the web-site!

Remember "Moose Legionnaires" are the fun group within the Moose and we hope each of you will bring in some new candidates allowing them to see that there is a great deal of fun to go along with our serious side.
